Your Consent Choices

When you first visit insoftresearch.com, a consent banner lets you accept or decline each cookie category separately. Only functional cookies are placed without your consent β€” they are strictly necessary for the site to work.

You can update your choices at any time via the cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. You can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings or opt out of interest-based advertising via the Digital Advertising Alliance at youradchoices.ca (Canada) or optout.aboutads.info (USA).

Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies

Most internet browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can configure your browser to block cookies, delete existing cookies, or prompt you before a cookie is placed. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website. If you delete cookies, they will be placed again when you next visit after providing consent.

Part 4
Canada (PIPEDA) & QuΓ©bec (Law 25)
β›‘This Part applies to Canadian residents visiting insoftresearch.com.

Canada β€” PIPEDA

PIPEDA (SC 2000, c 5) requires meaningful, informed, and withdrawable consent before collecting personal information via cookies. Implied consent is acceptable for anonymous analytics; express consent is required for marketing and tracking cookies.

Your rights β€” Canada

  • Right of access: Request access to personal information collected via cookies.
  • Right to withdrawal: Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies via our consent tool at any time.
  • Right to complain: File a complaint with the OPC at www.priv.gc.ca.
LOI 25
Separate section β€” QuΓ©bec residents only
LAW 25 — QUÉBEC RESIDENTS ONLY
Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information
This section applies exclusively to residents of QuΓ©bec. Law 25 supplements PIPEDA with stronger consent requirements for cookies.
β›‘The following applies exclusively to QuΓ©bec residents.

Law 25 β€” Enhanced consent requirements

For QuΓ©bec residents, cookie consent must be:

  • Express β€” not implied, for all non-essential cookies;
  • Granular β€” given separately for each category;
  • As easy to refuse as to accept β€” no dark patterns or pre-ticked boxes;
  • Withdrawable immediately at any time with immediate effect.

Additional rights under Law 25 (QuΓ©bec residents only)

  • Right to de-indexation: Request removal of personal information from online indexes where collection was not legally authorised.
  • Right to portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to complain to the CAI: File a complaint with the Commission d'accΓ¨s Γ  l'information at www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.
πŸ“‹ Designated Privacy Officer
Insoft Research has formally designated a Privacy Officer under Law 25. Write to privacy@infodev.ca to obtain their name.

Part 5
USA, Europe & Rest of World

United States β€” CCPA/CPRA

U.S. state privacy laws (including the CCPA and CPRA) operate on an opt-out model: cookies may be placed without prior consent, but visitors must be able to opt out clearly. We do not sell personal information collected via cookies. You may opt out of all non-essential cookies via our consent tool.

Europe β€” GDPR + ePrivacy Directive

The ePrivacy Directive requires prior, informed consent before placing any non-essential cookie. Our consent banner meets these requirements: prior consent, free choice, category-level granularity, clear information, and easy withdrawal at any time.

Google Analytics transfers anonymised data to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). IP anonymisation is enabled. LinkedIn also transfers data to the United States; LinkedIn has implemented SCCs for international transfers β€” see LinkedIn's Privacy Policy.

Rest of World

We apply the GDPR standard as our baseline for all visitors globally β€” seeking consent before placing non-essential cookies regardless of your location.

Part 6
